Generation Z or the Fun Generation
After Generation X and Generation Y, here comes Generation Z! No, it is not the last one - even though it is represented by the last letter of the alphabet - the apocalypse is not yet planned for now, but it designates the very new generation of young professionals. They are the youngest among us, the adults of today but especially of tomorrow. They were born between 1995 and 2010, and are even more connected than the Ys, who did not immediately know new technologies. Put a Minitel in front of a 15-year-old, they will have no idea what it is.
Generation Y learned to use the Internet as technological developments unfolded, while Z was born with it. Thanks to this, they start, even very young, to have overwhelming ambition, which can be seen as a quality or a flaw.
Let's not hide it, the new generation is completely addicted to social networks, and knows Instagram, Snapchat, and other Twitter by heart. They are hyper-connected and are aware in real-time of everything happening in the world starting at age 12.
In terms of culture, the influence of the Internet is still very present. If young people are so precociously ambitious, it is because the Internet is a formidable tool to know success, as evidenced by the success stories of various YouTubers and influencers, millionaires before even sixteen, all through making videos.
When they were (still) younger, individuals from Generation Z watched Totally Spies, Titeuf, or He-Man in Midi les Zouzous or Hannah Montana in KD2A. In school, the queen of the playground was the one with the largest collection of Diddl sheets. On the DS console, Nintendogs put Tamagotchi in the closet. As for music, digital has taken over from discs and listening is now done streaming, with young people from Generation Z themselves as stars: Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift...
In cinema, it was the various adaptations of successful books that marked this generation: The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Twilight, and many more. In terms of work, business leaders describe these young people as volunteers, but above all as utopians: they seek quick success and do not plan to do the same job their whole life. In fact, their lives are guided by a single goal: pleasure. Enjoying, whether in private or public life. Quite a beautiful goal, isn't it?
On this optimistic note, the first participation of Geneafinder in the ChallengeAZ comes to an end. An enriching experience that allowed us to launch our blog, before the next opening of the site Geneafinder. One adventure ends, another begins!
