Discover our Resources Space, available for those registered on Geneafinder.
Free, easy, and private genealogy on Geneafinder: our innovative and secure tools help you save time building your family tree and searching for your ancestors in the archives.
It's in Geneafinder's DNA: we are committed to providing you with useful and reliable resources to guide you from searching for your ancestors in archives to expanding your family tree.
This Resources space is available to all registered users on Geneafinder (quick and easy registration).
You can access it from the taskbar at the top of the screen via the HELP menu or directly from your menu by clicking on Our Resources.
To navigate this space, you have a choice:
- Check or uncheck the resources you want to see or not.
- Use the search bar directly with keywords.
- Browse through the pages to find what makes you happy.
In this Resources space, you have access to three types of help for your genealogy.
Cheat sheets
First, the cheat sheets, or the « signature of Geneafinder », are articles in which we have listed many links to websites, archives, videos, photos, books and magazines to help you in your quest for your family history in a given territory. Today there is a cheat sheet for each French department (overseas included) and we offer you a new cheat sheet for your international genealogy every month.
If you are looking for a specific cheat sheet, uncheck the other types of resources (printables and tutorials) and browse through the different pages or use the search bar directly.
Printables
These are models of family trees or genealogy sheets to improve your organization, available for free. You can view, download, and print them for free, without limits.
To see only the printables in this Resources space, don’t forget to uncheck the other types of resources (cheat sheets and tutorials).
Tutorials
These more technical sheets help you start your genealogy on Geneafinder, start your genealogy altogether, or export your tree from another website or software (Geneanet, Filae, Ancestry, MyHeritage, Hérédis, Ancestris and Gramps) to import it into Geneafinder and find your work.
In the tutorials, you will also find articles that guide you in the use of our different genealogy tools (tree entry, tree view, archive search, missing date estimator, name search engine in databases…).
